Mau Pho Bo

Mau Restaurant is more than a place to dine; it offers an immersive experience of Vietnamese culinary heritage. Located in Hanoi’s Old Quarter near Hoan Kiem Lake, the restaurant showcases authentic northern Vietnamese cuisine, including vegetarian dishes and its standout Pho Bo.

The preparation of Pho Bo is swift and theatrical. Noodles are dipped in a bamboo sieve into simmering water, loosened with chopsticks, then placed into a bowl. Slices of cooked brisket are layered over, followed by raw beef that gently cooks when robust, fragrant broth is ladled over. Finished with fresh herbs, it’s a comforting, deeply satisfying national classic served in a cozy, highly rated setting.
