The restaurant of this charming country house hotel near Tavira not only has beautiful rooms and gardens, it also serves an amazing cataplana – the name of a traditional copper pan as well as this traditional Algarve dish. At Fazenda Nova, the cataplana comes with pork loin, bacon, presunto, clams, big fat prawns and mussels seasoned with high quality olive oil produced in the Fazenda Nova. As is traditional, the cataplana is served with homemade chips. Pro tip: The restaurant opens for dinner only and it is best to book in advance.
