Santa Luzia, a quiet fishing village, is home to the octopus capital of Portugal. Many restaurants dedicate themselves just to this mollusc, but Casa do Polvo is one of the most popular. Polvo à Tasquinha is a dish in which octopus replaces pork – similar to traditional carne de porco à alentejana. Also try the octopus fritters (pataniscas).
