El Jardin del Califa

The Moors lived in this part of Andaucia for over 600 years. When expelled in 1492, their cuisine went with them. This gem of a place, El Califa Hotel, reflects the style of Morocco and has re introduced the cuisine. From the village of Vejer in which it is found, you look towards the north coast of this land of the tagine. El Califa serves fabulous Moroccan food. In particular, The Meze, featuring Hummus, Babaganoush, Tabouhlee, Moroccan Salad, Falafel and a feta type cheese, served alongside warm Moroccan style bread.
